Song of Mark

The Song of Mark is a musical / drama presentation was held on May 8-9, 2009.    Thanks to all who attended and all who particpated in any way.  A special thanks to the cast, crew and choir for the many, many hours given to make it the successful event that it was.  Click here to see some pictures of our rehearsals and presentation.

The Chancel Choir is down to the last few weeks of the 2008-2009 season.  We will resume rehearsals again in the fall each Wednesday at 7:00pm in the conference room.  If you have been considering singing -- take that first step at that time and join us.  Let me know now and I'll make sure you receive advance notice of our first rehearsal and reserve you a place.   The best way to reach me is via email.  Send me a note at gregswanson@beautifulsavior.net or phone me at 404-7066 it will make our first rehearsal go a little smoother.

I would like to see the group a little bigger next year so I hope I will also see all of the current members and those on hiatus join us in the fall. I am ALWAYS open to new members.  As always, it doesn't matter if we are in the middle of preparing for a special presentation.  Whether it is the beginning, middle or end of the season -- even if you can only participate for part of the season.  Come feel the excitement of this vital ministry.

There are no auditions for the choir and experience is not necessary.  Even if you have never sung in a group before, we will take the time necessary so that all feel welcome and able to participate fully.

Here are a few comments from current members when asked "Why do I sing in the choir?"

  • "It is such a joyful experience to share the gift of music and being part of the beautiful chords that ensue carrying the messages of trust and hope to those who hear."

  •  "I have sung in church choirs since 1975 with just a few breaks.  I love singing praises to the Lord and evangelizing through music.  I have nothing to offer the Lord that He can’t get on His own.  That is, except what is in my heart.  I want to bring to Him the joy that is in my heart because of the work of salvation that He has done for me, and for all of mankind!  We have a gracious and loving God to whom I gladly bring what is in my heart."

  •  "I was always cold because the A/C is always on too much. The robe keeps me warm."

Rehearsals last from 7:00pm to 8:30pm.  We sing once each week on a rotating schedule.  You can see the rotation for the fall/winter and spring season on the special music schedule by clicking here and following the menus.

For those who may not be able to participate in the choir, but still have a desire to give a gift of music to worship on Sunday morning -- PLEASE see either me or Becky.  We would love to get you on the schedule.  During the choir season, one service may be open for special music each Sunday.  Feel free to check our special music calendar on the choir site to see what services are open.  You can find it at www.bslcchoir.org

Please prayerfully consider joining us as part of this vital and exciting ministry at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church.
